General Steel Drum Acquires North Coast Container of Cleveland, Ohio

PORTLAND, OR – General Steel Drum LLC (“GSD”), which is owned by the Stavig family, who also separately owns Myers Container LLC and Container Management Services LLC, is pleased to announce the acquisition of North Coast Container (“NCC”) of Cleveland, Ohio. These four independent companies operate multiple facilities in Oregon, California, North Carolina and Ohio servicing the new steel drum, reconditioned drum, and IBC needs of their respective customers. The new entity will operate as North Coast Container LLC.

“We are pleased to be joining forces with the Beardsley family who has built a formidable business since its inception in 1983,” states Kyle Stavig, CEO. “The Beardsley and Stavig families have been friends for generations. This transaction is good for North Coast, good for our customers, and good for the Stavigs’ container businesses that, collectively, now have the ability to service customers across the country.” James (Jim) Beardsley will retain the leadership position of NCC as the Senior Executive Vice President and serve on the board of directors. “We are very proud of the business our family created and we decided it was time to join forces with a fellow multi-generation family business – especially one that has been around for over 100 years. There are significant growth opportunities in the newly-combined organization with GSD for our customers, suppliers and our employees” remarked Jim Beardsley.
